A Wedding in Paradise
This weekend we celebrated Caroline and Justin's wedding in Carlsbad, California. It was beautiful! I think the San Diego/Carlsbad area is even prettier than Hawaii. The area was incredibly lush. The wedding was so personal and touching and all of the festivities at the Four Seasons were amazing. It was so much fun to spend quality time with college friends. We even snuck in a trip to go speed go-carting, a visit to the San Diego Wild Animal Park and dinner with Jon and Pati Cook and Scott Macke. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Beers and Babies (AGAIN)
This weekend I was off to Minneapolis/St. Paul with Hillary to visit our good friend Kelly from business school. It was great to meet beautiful Katherine, Kelly's 9 week old baby! We enjoyed great food, fantastic weather and wonderful talks.
Dana had a good time at a friend's rooftop party and dominated several rounds of beer pong. Quite impressive!

A busy Saturday
This Saturday we were BUSY! The day started with a trip to the gym and was followed by a delicious lunch at Kelley's in celebration of Laura Scurlock's 2nd baby. She is having a little girl and naming her Reid.
After that Christine worked at a career fair for Frito-Lay. Then we had a church community group meeting/dinner. And finally we all served dinner at a homeless shelter sponsored by the Union Gospel Mission. We loved it and all want to go back soon!
Top Golf is so Cool
Friday night we had a triple date with two couples from our church small group. We spent the evening at Top Golf. Top Golf is sort of like an upscale driving range. It puts GPS sensors in your balls and tracks them, so it's similar to going bowling with friends. Plus, the food there is really good! I'm sure we'll be back. Randy and Lindsay are pros already but Cayce and John show a lot of natural talent. Dana had fun playing with his new driver too.

A fun weekend with Christine's Mom
Mom was in town this weekend and we had a really low-key, nice weekend. Friday we had one of the best salads on this earth at Maguires restaurant.
Saturday we enjoyed having Chad and Hudson (and Chad's parents) and Janelle and Michael (and Janelle's mom) over for a fun brunch. Janelle and Barb had just done Race for the Cure, so they of course were very pink! Hudson decided to go for a nice naked swim (ah - to be a kid again) with Michael in the backyard. What a cutie.
Later we hung out (again - are we groupies?) at the Gordon-Biersch beer garden and then had an incredible sushi dinner at RA Sushi. RA just opened up near us and it was awesome. Great food, incredible people watching, very lively music = my new favorite restaurant!

A Hot Summer Week
Christine's mom (Nancy) arrives tomorrow for a weekend visit. We can't wait! Tomorrow night we're heading to the botanical gardens for "Cool Thursdays" (an outdoor concert where you bring a blanket and some wine and just enjoy the music and outdoors).
On a different note, Christine didn't make it into the documentary about women in India. This is okay though because now we can go with Dana's family one day (Dana's father grew up in India).
We are also sooo excited to find out that our dear friend Sara Holben and her fiance James are going to get married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in January. Our first destination wedding! The place they chose looks beautiful and so many wonderful friends are going - we can't wait....

Beers and Babies
This weekend was super low key. It was so nice to not have anything on the calendar!
Thursday we had our final 4 year Anniversary celebration at Nicolas, one of our favorite local Italian restaurants. After dinner we watched our wedding video and had a good time remembering what a fun wedding week we had in 2004!
Friday we headed back to Gordon Biersch (Dana's glad to have this bit of the Bay Area now in Plano) and enjoyed the beautiful weather while we drank beers on the patio with our good friend Michael Fox.
Saturday, Christine and her girlfriends went to see the movie "Sex and the City". Although it was a bit more x-rated than expected, it was still entertaining. Afterwards we headed to the Loredos to have dinner with the Hottingers and catch up with the twins.
